Feather Edge Garden Shed
Our 6’ x 4’ Feather Edge Garden Shed is a low-cost and…
We pride ourselves on supplying well-constructed, robust, pressure treated garden sheds as part of our garden buildings range. In fact, our Premier sheds are some of the most robust and heavy duty available on the market today. They're built to last.
Walford Timber has manufactured and supplied quality timber for gardens since 1945. Our garden sheds are built to last, pressure treated for the British weather and backed by a guarantee, so whether you need a simple store for the mower or a full workshop at the bottom of the garden, you can buy with confidence. Order online or visit our Cheltenham yard, with delivery and installation available across the county.
We supply homeowners, gardeners, allotment holders and trade customers throughout Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury and the surrounding area. Every shed is robustly built from quality timber, and if you would rather not tackle the assembly yourself, we can put you in touch with a trusted local installer to prepare the base, deliver and build it for you.
We stock a wide choice of timber garden sheds to suit every garden, budget and purpose. Here is how the main types compare.
An apex shed has a traditional pitched roof that rises to a central ridge, giving you extra headroom in the middle and excellent rain runoff. It is the classic choice for general storage and for anyone who wants room to stand and work comfortably inside.
A pent shed has a single sloping roof, which makes it ideal where space is tight or where you want to place the shed against a wall or fence. The lower profile suits smaller gardens and modern settings, while still giving you plenty of practical storage.
For a shed that is built to work hard for many years, our Premier range uses heavier timber and stronger construction throughout. These robust buildings are some of the most hard-wearing available, and are well suited to workshops, larger gardens and anyone who wants a building that will stand the test of time. Prices for our Premier Apex buildings start from £1,188.
If you grow your own or need a proper space to work, a potting shed or workshop gives you light, ventilation and room for a bench. Add windows, extra doors and shelving to create a practical space that works the way you do.
When a standard size will not fit, we can help. Working with our own sawmill and our manufacturing partners, we can supply sheds in bespoke sizes to suit an awkward corner, a specific footprint or a particular height. Tell our team what you need, and we will prepare a quote.
There are many things that set our Premier sheds apart from others on the market. They are fully lined with Tyvek Housewrap to prevent moisture ingress. Tyvek is a durable, lightweight breathable membrane that is windtight and water-resistant, so you can be certain that your shed has been manufactured to withstand the elements throughout the year.
What’s more, you can be sure that the floors and roofs are constructed from Pressure treated T&G for superior strength and durability. While the side panels are constructed from heavy-duty pressure treated shiplap and framing – for strength and durability. Our Premier Sheds also feature extra-tough Polyester roof felt alongside a high-quality opening window assembly; and a rim lock and doorknob for enhanced security.
Manufactured at our main site in Walford, our garden sheds are made using only pressure treated timber. Other than the budget Featheredge shed which is constructed from UK sourced timber, the rest of the sheds are constructed from high grade Scandinavian and Siberian timber from sustainable sources.
Unlike most sheds on the market that are dipped, all of the sheds we manufacture are fully pressure treated to give years of service and peace of mind with little or no aftercare required to prevent rot. This is an industrial vacuum/pressure treatment process carried out in our own treatment plant and ensures the sheds last far longer than most other manufacturers products.
If you are looking for a low cost, value shed then our traditional Feather Edge garden shed is probably the best place to start. If you need more space, our Utility Apex garden shed is the worth checking out. If you are looking for something more heavy duty and substantial then we recommend you look at our Premier Buildings. Our Premier Apex and Premier Pent buildings come with a 10-year guarantee against all manufacturing defects as standard and you are more than welcome to visit our site and see for yourself the difference we offer in quality using only heavy duty materials.
The best shed for you comes down to how you will use it, how much space you have and the look you want. A few things to think about:
Our team is always happy to talk through the options and help you choose a shed that will serve you well for years.
Our garden sheds range from compact stores for a small garden or courtyard through to large workshops with room for a bench and machinery. As a guide, smaller sheds suit bikes, tools and garden essentials, mid-sized sheds work well as a general store or hobby space, and larger buildings give you a proper workshop or studio. If none of the standard sizes fit your space, we can build one to measure. Measure the area you have, allowing room to open the doors and to walk around the shed for maintenance, and our team can recommend the right size.
Every timber garden shed we sell is pressure-treated to protect it against rot and fungal decay, and comes with a guarantee for real peace of mind. We build with quality, responsibly sourced timber, and our tongue-and-groove cladding and sturdy framing are designed to keep your shed weatherproof and solid for many years. Treated correctly and given an occasional coat of wood paint or preserver, a good shed will look after your garden equipment for a very long time.

We have manufactured and supplied timber for gardens since 1945, and we still make and process our products on our own British site. We also partner with leading garden building specialists, including Powersheds, to bring you an even wider choice of premium buildings. That heritage and quality are why we can stand behind every shed we sell, and why homeowners and trade customers across Gloucestershire come back to us. Visit our Cheltenham yard to see the quality for yourself and talk to a team that knows timber inside out.
How much do garden sheds cost? Our garden sheds start from £359.99 for a feather edge shed, with our heavy duty Premier Apex buildings from £1,188. The final price depends on the size, the style and any extras such as additional windows, upgraded doors or installation. For a bespoke shed or a larger order, contact us for a quote.
What sizes of sheds do you offer? We supply everything from compact stores for a small garden through to large workshops. If a standard size will not fit your space, we can build a shed to measure.
Should I choose an apex or a pent shed? Choose an apex shed for maximum headroom and a traditional look, or a pent shed, with its single sloping roof, where space is tight, or the shed will sit against a wall or fence.
Do you deliver, and can you install my shed? Yes. We deliver across Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury and the wider county, and you are welcome to collect from our Cheltenham yard. If you would like your shed built for you, we can put you in touch with a trusted local installer from our network to prepare the base, deliver and assemble it.
Are your garden sheds treated and guaranteed? Yes. Every shed is pressure-treated against rot and fungal decay and comes with a guarantee. Walford Timber Shed’s timber is certified and built to last in the British climate.
Can you make a shed to measure? Yes. If you have an awkward space or a specific size in mind, send us your measurements, and we will prepare a quote for a made-to-measure shed.
Do I need a base for my shed? Yes. A firm, level base is essential for a shed to sit well, drain properly and last. This can be a concrete, paved or timber base, and if you use our installer network, they can prepare a suitable base as part of the installation.
Do I need planning permission for a shed? Most garden sheds fall under permitted development and do not need planning permission, but there are limits on size, height and position, and different rules apply to listed properties and conservation areas. Our guide on planning permission for a shed explains the details, and it is always worth checking with your local council if you are unsure.
