Whites and off-whites can take 3 coats to produce a truly solid colour coating. They are more susceptible to tanin stains and resin bleeds on the paint coating so you may want to apply a stain-blocking primer prior to painting.

No. Zinc Grey is an opaque paint, so it gives a solid, even colour coating rather than a translucent finish that shows the grain underneath.
How many coats of Zinc Grey Wood Paint do I need?
As a light shade, Zinc Grey can need up to three coats to achieve a fully solid colour, more than a darker colour typically needs. Because lighter colours are also more prone to tannin staining and resin bleed from the wood underneath, we’d recommend a stain blocking primer first.
