Around 20 people from the society attended, and after some welcome refreshments were given an introduction to the company by the Managing Director George Smith. As well as insight into the company’s history, George also discussed Walford Timber’s present and future plans.
Following this, the group were given a detailed guided tour of our facilities, where we were able to demonstrate how many of our products are processed and produced. Questions were fielded throughout the tour, and everyone had a full insight into what we do.
Following the tour of our site, the society then moved just down to the road to Greenblade, producers of high quality turf, and were given a further tour their site, before all meeting back at our local Gastro Pub, The Mill Race, for a delicious meal.
We had some great feedback from the society members who found the tour fascinating, and had several remarks of how surprised they were by the extent of what we do. It was a pleasure to host the society, and an enjoyable day for all.
